Over the course of the coming months we will be doing everything we can to reach our target of £5,000 for our two chosen charities.
Therefore we will be organising various events and parties, as well as bringing around sponsorship forms to help us raise the money, so keep checking the FutureEvents page of the website to find out what's happening near you!! It will be great to see you at any one (or all!) of the events.
There are also several ways in which you can help us get closer to our target - I've already dispatched my mum around South Petherton with a 'Guess the name ofthe Teddy Bear' fundraiser! Equally, we would more than welcome anybody attempting to raise some money with an office swear-box, or collecting 20p's in a Smartie tube, or cake sales, or non-uniform work days, or car boot sales, etc. which will all help us achieve our aim.
Various people (including Rog' on the Guestbook page) have suggested that a challenge such as this ideally lends itself to the trusty old sweepstake game! Certainly something along the lines of total number of punctures, or how many days before the first saddle sore(!) would work pretty well....having said that, there have been some ideas I've received that haven't been particularly kind.......unsurprisingly, it was Darryl and Mark again!
It's also been suggested that I should invite people to set me mini-challenges to be completed during the trip. Anything along the lines of having my photo takenat the highest point on the route, or attempting to overtake the RV downhill are all challenges I'm willing to take on, assuming of course, that people are prepared to dig deep into their pockets in return!! I would however just like to state here and now that this is a family-friendly initiative so any requests of me 'mooning at a Sheriff' will (probably) not be entertained!
I'm sure there'll be more ideas and suggestions in due course (both good and bad!) and we'd love to hear your thoughts on any other ideas you may have via the Guestbook page.
