Well, again we have to thank someone else for the organising of this event. Our friends Wendy and Neil put in hours of work getting the route sorted out and working out the questions for the event. The planning began several weeks ago and the first test run was done at the beginning of June by Amy’s parents to ensure that it was actually possible!
Due to this it meant that Amy could join in with the fun on the day (June 22nd) and entered the event in one of the 8 cars which turned up for the treasure hunt on the day.Again it was really good to see some new faces and we are ever so grateful to all those that took part.
Once everyone had left Cucklington Village with their question sheets in hand, there were many times that the various cars passed each other, usually going about 3 miles an hour along some country road, clearly baffled by the clues which had been provided! Not only were there questions which had to be answered along the route, there were also photos of items which had to be found, as well as a scavenger hunt for those that actually checked through all of the paperwork before handing it in at the end (naming no cars Amy, Gordon, Nick & Hayley!!).
The last question of the hunt led everyone to The White Lion, in Bourton, where cars turned up at a variety of times, but once everyone had arrived, the winning car was announced and then a raffle was drawn for which some amazingly generous gifts had been donated.
We would like to thank everyone that got involved in this fantastic day and helped us to raise a further £97 towards our fundraising target.
Also we can’t end this entry without giving a huge thank you to Wendy and Neil who did all of the preparations for event, as well as all of the organisation on the day. They have been a massive help throughout the planning of the various events which we have held and we are extremely grateful for their support and for keeping us sane at times!
