QUIZ NIGHT

I’d love to tell you how much fun we had getting all the questions together for this, but in truth neither Amy or I had much to do with the planning of this event whatsoever! All of the thanks and praise must go to my mum and to her good friend Sadie Stockford who between them, arranged the entire evening!

We ended up with an excellent turn out as we had 10 or 11 teams and we filled the Blake Hall in South Petherton quite nicely. It was really good to see some new faces at the party and with the posters that had been distributed around the area it was nice to find that we’d drawn people in without too much persuasion!

The evening consisted of 10 rounds of questions, ranging from geography to TV trivia and judging from the balance of cheers and sighs whilst reading out the questions and subsequent answers, it appeared that everybody had a really enjoyable time.

Being new to the role of ‘quizmaster’, I needed a quick lesson from Sadie on how teams could play a joker and I have to say, there were even a couple of occasions where I needed her help just to read and pronounce the questions!

We also held another raffle on the night, as well as a ‘name the teddy’ competition. Once again, both of these were organised by my mum and she did an outstanding job of obtaining some great prize donations from local shops and businesses.

By the end of the night we’d managed to raise an absolutely astonishing total of just over £500!!

As with our previous fundraising nights, and this event was no different, we are constantly surprised by the enthusiasm and generosity people show. I’m probably beginning to sound like a broken record, but we really would like to offer our most heartfelt thanks to all who have attended and supported our parties.

I’ll finish this report where I started and would like to offer a huge thank you to my mum, to Sadie, and to all who helped on the night. Without you, this quiz night wouldn’t have happened and we truly are very grateful for everything you have done, and continue to do.
